Sourdough Salmon BLT's

A fresh and nourishing twist on the classic BLT. These Sourdough Salmon BLT’s are layered with crispy uncured bacon, flaky air-fried salmon, creamy avocado, fresh butter lettuce, and juicy tomatoes on perfectly toasted sourdough. Packed with healthy fats, protein, and flavor, this sandwich is the perfect balance of comfort food and wholesome eating.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of Izzio Sourdough Boule
  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 1 avocado
  • Butter lettuce
  • 1 organic tomato, thinly sliced
  • 4–6 slices uncured bacon
  • Avocado oil or olive oil (optional, for seasoning the salmon)
  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lay the bacon slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate once cooked.
  2. While the bacon cooks, preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Lightly coat the salmon fillets with avocado oil or olive oil and season with sea salt, black pepper, and any additional seasonings you enjoy. Air fry for 10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flaky.
  3. Toast the sourdough bread to your desired crispness.
  4. Slice and mash the avocado slightly, then spread it evenly onto each slice of toast.
  5. Assemble the sandwiches by layering butter lettuce, thinly sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon, and a salmon fillet onto two slices of toast. Top with the remaining slices of toast.
  6. Slice each sandwich in half and serve warm.
